Subscription or purchase – what costs what?
Worked example for the Plus package over 24 months, all figures net. The one-off purchase is calculated with the matching maintenance contract, because a website needs looking after after it is bought too.

What the figures mean
Over 24 months the subscription costs around 710 € net more than buying outright. In return the first month costs 2,280 € net less and a fixed change allowance is already included that would be billed by effort under the purchase model. If you want to capitalise the website as an asset or work without a tie-in, buying outright is the better fit. If you want predictability and a dedicated contact without a large upfront investment, the subscription is the right choice.
What the monthly fee does not cover
So there are no surprises later: these items are deliberately not part of the subscription and are either quoted separately or billed to you directly by third parties.
- Text and images. You supply the content. On request we take on copywriting and sourcing images – that is then quoted separately.
- Domain fees. Your domain stays registered to you and is billed by your registrar.
- Licences for add-on modules. We state the cost of any paid extension before booking it; you decide.
- Payment and shipping fees. Payment providers and shipping companies bill you directly.
- Legal review. We embed your imprint, privacy policy and terms. Reviewing their content is a matter for your legal advisers.
- Ongoing search engine optimisation. The technical foundations are included; continuous work is booked separately – see SEO.
- Advertising budget. Ad spend is paid directly to the platform concerned.
- Changes beyond the allowance. We tell you in advance. You then choose between billing by effort, moving the work into the following month or moving up to the next package.

What you get contractually
On money and ownership, only plain language helps. So here are the points that are in the contract – before you enquire.
Type of contract
The subscription is a contract for the ongoing provision and operation of a website or shop. The emphasis is on provision for use: you use the website for the term of the contract, we make it available, host it, keep it up to date and carry out your changes. The one-off purchase, by contrast, is a contract for work: you pay a fixed price, accept the result and become its owner.
Term and cancellation
You choose a minimum term of 12 or 24 months. After that the subscription continues indefinitely and can be cancelled with one month's notice to the end of the month. There is no automatic renewal for another minimum term and no obligation to buy the site back.
Ownership and data
Your content, your data and your domain remain yours throughout. If you cancel, we export text, images, customer and order data in a common format and hand them over. The build provided under the subscription stays with us. If you want to own the result permanently, the one-off purchase is the route – its price is stated for every package on this page, and switching from a subscription to a purchase is possible at any time.

All prices quoted are net plus statutory VAT. The setup fee is due at the start, the monthly amount from go-live. Prices do not change during the minimum term.

The subscriptions are aimed at businesses, the self-employed, associations and public bodies. If you are still in the start-up phase or enquiring as a private individual, please select that in the enquiry form. Consumer rights including the right of withdrawal then apply, and we draw up the contract accordingly.

Included are hosting in Germany, the SSL certificate, backups, updates and security patches, uptime checks and a fixed change allowance of between 30 minutes and 20 hours per month. Not included are domain fees, licences for paid add-on modules, advertising budget and the legal review of your legal texts – the full list is further up this page.

Yes. You can buy out a website running on a subscription at any time by paying the package's one-off price, less the setup fee you have already paid. The website then belongs to you and you only pay for hosting and support from 49 € net per month.
We check that case by case. If the existing website is technically sound, up to date and maintainable, we take over operation and maintenance under a maintenance contract from 49 € net per month. If it is outdated or not accessible, rebuilding it on a subscription is usually the cheaper route.
